Found this on the BBC website, but didn't think it was worth a new thread:

Re: What The Papers Say
Picked up tomorrow's free Sport magazine tonight at Cannon Street - there was this piece about e-editions of Roy of the Rovers. I haven't bought an e-reader yet - thinking of getting the kindle fire (not the HD version) but may get the Kobo. Any recommendations? Being middle aged i'm fed up with squinting at an old paperback on the tube so an e-reader with its larger font size capability would be a boon - do any have removable storage mini sd cards?

An article about The Phoenix from The Telegraph:

Pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't saying "Comics aren't dead because loads of people went to watch a film based on an American comic!" like I was expecting.

If you are considering reading comics digitally I recommend a tablet . I bought a Samsung Galaxy TAB 2 which is great for reading digital comics. The screen is bigger than most i-pads and you can "pinch" the screen to enlarge parts of the page to admire the artwork in more detail. Haven't looked into storage cards but there is a slot for one. You can download alpps like comic reader for free.

Re: What The Papers Say
Lol, "one of the first" annuals came out in 1939 did it? Utterly clueless.
Still, if only those 100,000 people who buy a Beano product once a year could be persuaded to maybe buy one a week...

Re: What The Papers Say
Steve, I have a Kindle 3G and got it last year. It's brilliant for what I want. A mini-library of all my paperbacks in something I can put inside a jacket pocket. I would love to get the Kindle Fire as it is so shiny!stevezodiac wrote:I haven't bought an e-reader yet - thinking of getting the kindle fire (not the HD version) but may get the Kobo. I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

I think i'll get the kindle fire but not the Hd version as i figure it will have a shiny screen not suitable for book reading.
Wow just hearing about Stuart Hall on the radio - not him surely? (what the radio says sub section)

Not exactly newspapers but the BBC website has a picture of the Bash Street Kids on the frontpage. There is a news piece about them changing a name of a street in Dundee to Bash Street.
