Each to his own but I felt Severin swamped Trimpe's linework with his own. I didn't feel they were compatable at all and dropped the Hulk after a few issues during that period. Yes, Severin is a great, (although I always preferred Marie's work) but for Marvel to use him as an inker was a waste of his talent in my opinion.Cap Haggis wrote:I have to say that Herb Trimpes work was great when inked by the great John Severin.
Paul; no, the Alan Moore Captain Britains don't really follow on from the original. It's the same character but each can be read seperately. Also, in between the original CB strips and the Alan Moore version is a period where CB guest stars in the Black Knight strip (Hulk Weekly). Hopefully Panini will, next year, publish a collected Black Knight volume but there's nothing definite as far as I know.
