As far as I know most of the artwork is long gone.

There would still be copies of everything they've published though, surely? Shelves full of annuals, binders full of comics? All that would take up plenty of space even without things like original artwork and scripts.

The artwork was stored on film. Hopefully it's been transferred to digital over the years.

I was told by editors that originals were disposed of or (from the mid 1980s) returned to artists who wanted their own art back (such as myself. I had all my Oink and Buster pages returned.). They might have some bound comics but as some of those have found their way onto eBay I suspect there are gaps.

The local press (Oxford Mail) refers to there being 80 metres of shelving needed to store the file copies - there certainly are shelves and binders that are going to be held by Rebellion. I am hoping to go and have a look sometime with me own fair eyes! They won't be stored in the warehouse though - a big publisher based in another location does Rebellion's warehousing for them, can't remember the details. The file copies / binders will be stored in Oxford though, that's what Ben Smith definitely said when I talked to him about it.
jintycomic.wordpress.com/ Excellent and weird stories from the past - with amazing art to boot.

I don't think this was clarified, Monster is not owned by The Dan Dare Corp. It was owned by Egmont because it started in Scream! which Rebellion now own.

Yeah. It was the same for Rebellion and 2000AD. 2000AD once had Dan Dare in it's lineup. They obviously don't own that.

I do hope it's not just graphic novels. I'd love a comic, whether that's a Classics from the Comics or pocket books style. Buying a monthly would be so much more interesting than a book (which would be welcomed of course - I'm not that ungrateful!).

You could always buy Derek the Troll and Brickman Returns! All comic strip, no tat. (Not available in newsagents but why fixate on newsagent-only comics? Times move on.)

I'm all for new comics and supporting creators but saying 'Times move on' and then linking to your reprint collections with material first published years ago is a tiny bit ironic wouldn't you say?

Not lookng to offend just making an observation.

I was clearly referring to the places to obtain comics these days but by all means don't let that stop you attempting a wind-up.
