Thanks, Matrix! Looks like a Peter Maddocks strip----I haven't heard of this one before, thanks for bringing it to my attention! Yes I'm a Kong fanatic, I've watched the 1933 and 2005 versions hundreds of times [not so struck on the Jessica Lange 1976 version]. I was a bit wary of putting a copyrighted character like King Kong into a strip, but I sought professional advice on CCGB on this and they said as my KK is a supporting character only [and not a central character] it shouldn't really be a problem.....


The strip isn't doing that great to be honest, but there's only 3 strips ever been shown anywhere outside my blog [which has had over 10,000 hits, incidentally] , which is only a fraction of the overall BOOMER concept really. I might have better luck submitting about 50 strips to the syndicates, which is a better representation of the limited material shown thus far, who knows......


I might be out of the competition this weekend, I don't know-----however I've been lucky enough to find some paid cartoon work recently, which has kept my mind occupied.

The strip has still never been submitted to any of the 5 major USA syndicates [I've finally got the hang of the digital colouring lark, so I've no excuse any more]!


It took me a fair while to get to grips with Digicolor [I use the free GIMP 2 service , which is almost as powerful as Photoshop, but probably a good bit more complex to utilize]: This is the sort of thing I desired though:

I thought you might like a Kong strip Rab, glad you are getting some paid work, thanks for the BB latest you just need a break with the strip you certainly deserve it, and i like many others on here are gunning for you. Sorry about that pun!

No new BB strips for about a year [the longest I ever left the strip] ---however, modern 'coloring' techniques I have picked up over the last 2 years are now at an applicable state-----I drew this strip about 5 years ago---just coloured in now!!

I'm happy to report that my technique is improving rapidly, as hopefully you will agree here.
