GoDaddy.com are offering domain names very cheaply at the moment: co.uk £1 for the first year, .com £1.99 for the first year, I think.

Just going back to what Phoenix said earlier (sorry been too busy to respond):

I must've met Mel then - read her comics and had good chat (not read her book so can't comment). I jokingly asked if any were for sale - thought not!

I wasn't expecting to see any other Comics UK people - mainly as I don't know what they look like! Come to think of it, might've glimpsed you Phoenix, though most of the time I was too engrossed talking to others (including a "Mary").

Yeah, I did venture in Kernaghans, and bagged myself an annual (1979 Schoolfriend). The lady in the shop (who partly helped organize it) would've liked to have gone, but had to mind shop.

Unfortunately, I had to rush off around noon (another commitment), leaving me no time to explore the other Liverpool outlets. One I had hoped to also visit was antiques/bric a brac shop 69A, who often have annuals in. Frustratingly, they now don't open until noon.

One other place I may check out - if still there - is Jim's Emporium, which sometimes has comics/annuals. It only opens Mon-Thursday last time, so I'll do a midweek trip to Liverpool asap.

I'm pretty sure Jim's is still there. I used to go there quite frequently but now that I'm not really looking for anything much I tend to give it a miss. Jim is a friendly guy who would actually prefer to retire to his place in Orrell Park but he needs to sell the business first. Two or three years ago he accepted an offer for it, and was looking forward to getting out when the potential buyer gave back word. Since then, nothing as far as I'm aware. I have to go to Liverpool fairly soon to get my last few Christmas presents so I'll try to pop in to the Emporium for a catch-up chat with Jim.

That is the one further along Renshaw Street in the direction of the top of Bold Street. In the sixties 69A was the address of the local office of the Provident Clothing and Supplies company, who were moneylenders, and the office was on the first floor. The ground floor was then 69, and it was an off licence.
