What comics did you buy today?
Re: What comics did you buy today?
Also via E Bay a few more editions of June Comic from 1971-72, filling some more gaps in my collections. All were job lot piles, so some may replace editions I've got in collection in a sorry condition. One pile came all the way from Australia, well worth it, beautiful conditions.
Also bought some more June Picture Libraries from 1969-70 many promoting new comic Sally on their back covers. Did a bit of hard bidding for these but all were well worth it, great stories and artworks.
Made up for my 3 lost bids for some old Christmas double issue TV and Radio Times guides for 1970s. One sneaked in on dying deadline seconds. It's sure a tough business bidding, sure have to be at your sharpest all worthwhile when I a victory is claimed.

Got issues 2 and 3 of the DC series "Superman Family" ,actually numbered 165 and 166 due to this series continuing numbering from the "Jimmy Olsen" title. Excellent condition from a wonderful seller on Ebay.

Went to Manchester Comic Fair yesterday and netted 2 bargains: a 1975 Beano Summer Special from 1975 (I remember reading that back then) for £1 and a 1963 beano Annual for £2 (with lots of ace stuff from Leo Baxendale and Ken Reid (including Jonah).
Also picked up a Bunty Picture library - "Super Sue" - from Empire Exchange.
Received successfully bid for a pile of June Picture Library from 1969 and 1970, many with plugs for featuring some bonus strips in the book relating to the new Sally comic.
Recently got some gap plugging Princess Tinas from 1968-69; fingers crossed they arrive safely.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Went to a shop in Liskeard. Absolutely masses of comics, from the Gem to L Miller, Alan Class, Power Comics, Seventies Marvel UK and Golden to 1990s American. Big collection of annuals, pulp detectives, sci-fi journals etc etc.
I ended up buying a Captain Marvel Jr. I was very tempted by a Marvelman Jr annual (strange name, given he was Young Marvelman).
You really don't see these kind of shops anymore.

Picked up this world distribution annual from the market place for £2 ,at first I thought it was a battle comic annual before glancing through it.

The Big Battle Book I bought is not dated but I saw at one internet source it was dated 1965 however the original price is 10/6 pre decimal.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Bought myself a four issues of the Buster comic to pair with more Lew Stringer Tom Thug & Vampire Brats art bought. I also got a 1972 Look-in magazine for a piece of original Harry North "On The Buses" artwork I recently sourced.
Update: Had delivery of my Look-in magazine from 1972 and a page of original Harry North, "On The Buses", artwork. it's a little faded with time, yes, but an extremely rare survivor.

It's not on Grand Comics Database. Which company published it? Is it more than 50% comic strips?

Got myself a very nice "Beryl the Peril" annual from 1959 in FN condition. And a Beano comic No.3356 from 2006 with a page of original " Bash Street Kids" art obtained direct from the great cartoonist Kevin F. Sutherland. Cool or what!
