Re: Diane Gabbott: List of her artwork
Following closure of the image host who provided the copies of the artwork list, I attach the latest list again as attachments.

Re: John Richardson’s artwork in girls’ comics
Thanks Tammyfan. Sorry I haven't replied to you earlier, but I missed your post amidst other traffic on the site.
I see that copies of the list have disappeared again, as another free image host has shut up shop. Trying for a bit more permanence, I've posted the latest list here as attachments.

Re: Mike Hubbard - But where were they published?
Sorry, I’m a bit confused. This new link takes me to the first post that you did about this, which I had read. Yes, the illustrations to “Gales of Glentor” in Sally 1971 are by Hubbard, but the panel that you show in your part 3 from the same story in Super Story Book is not only different art but ...

Re: Mike Hubbard - But where were they published?
Are you sure these are all by Mike Hubbard? “The Gales of Glentor”, “Sandie in Switzerland” and “Heroine in the Desert” look to me like somebody else's work. I can’t put any definite names on them, but “Heroine in the Desert” has a slight look of Norman Pett. As his ex-colleague on Jane , he might ...

Re: London Stores
One entry on the map is out of date. 30th Century Comics no longer has a shop - now mail order only.

Re: VAT, Customs Duty, Excise Duty, Import Duty
You may find the calculator on this website helpful:
https://www.gov.uk/trade-tariff
It's not that easy to use, but it does deliver a reply. This seems to suggest that there's no import duty from the US in this case, but as the tariffs have been changing every few days, it may not be up to date ...

Re: John Richardson’s artwork in girls’ comics
Thanks again. I don't have all the Bonfire Night issues from this period, but I know it's not from 1974, 1975 or 1977. It's unlikely to be later, as Richardson had pretty well stopped contributing to Wee Sue after December 1977. Looks like you're right that it's a new story.

Re: Diane Gabbott: List of her artwork
A variant of this was "To Tell the Truth..." from Mandy annual 1987. A girl is given a lie detector for her birthday by her scientist father (worn like a watch and buzzes when someone lies). The damn thing buzzes all the time and everyone seems to be lying to her, and it can't differentiate ...

Re: Diane Gabbott: List of her artwork
I wouldn't mind reading the Happy Days story about Sue's truth-telling bet. I wonder where I could get scans?
When I started hunting out a copy of this to scan, I realised that there are actually two Happy Days stories about truth-telling, with very similar storylines, and that I had slightly ...

Re: Diane Gabbott: List of her artwork
And so you watched ITV, eh?
I think we probably had the odd sneak peek...
Why the heck did they think it was a bad influence?
Partly I suppose because the generation who had lived through the War had Churchillian values. But mainly, I think it was a class judgement. Coronation Street was ...
