Re: Your FIRST Ever Favourite Comic Character/Strip

I have a few.

However; my first ever favourite comic character/strip was Black Bob - The Dandy Wonder Dog.

It was my favourite strip of the late 60s/& 70s when I started reading The Dandy and I still love it (enough to make me collect all of his annuals).

Your FIRST Ever Favourite Comic Character/Strip

I think that everyone here has their favourite comic character or, like me, even a few. But the question here is: What was your FIRST ever favourite comic character or strip? I don't necessarily mean a British character/strip either. For instance, it could be Mickey Mouse or Spider-man. As long that...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Recently bought a full year (1984) of Tiger and am just waiting for its last issues for 1985 before it merged with Eagle.

I also just ordered the 2020 Specials Bundle from the 2000AD Shop.

Re: Trigan Empire & Rebellion 2020 Schedule

I can't wait and will be putting in my order this weekend.

Sad that there is no new The Vigilant coming out this year but perhaps maybe 2021?

Re: Your Favourite Time for Having Comics

I wonder if members know that Donald and Mickey was advertised as a new comic in IPC titles but then came an announcement that the launch had been delayed. I was looking through some issues of Shoot on Friday and noticed a small piece in one of them apologising for its delay. Not me since I didn't ...

Re: Your Favourite Time for Having Comics

My Mum picked up my reserved comics twice a week. Tuesday was Beano and Topper then on Friday Avengers (later The Titans), Spider-man, TV Comic, Donald & Mickey & Look-In. So mid 70s. Ahh. Donald and Mickey . Loved it in the 70s and was the first comic to get me to look outside the DCT stable.

Re: What comics do you read on a regular basis?

Currently it’s the Red Dagger series which will be followed by the Dan Dare Hawk books but that could be interrupted depending on what Santa brings! After you have finished reading the 30 issues in the RED DAGGER series, Adam, you might consider reading the 30 issues of LUCKY CHARM , the equivalent...

Re: What Christmas Comics Have You Bought Recently?

Brilliant, gentlemen. I bought a complete year of Battle Picture Weekly s (1976), a complete year of Hotspur s (1978) and a complete year of Valiant s. What year of Valiant? I have the set and last year I read 1974 and 1975 as I read them as a kid when they came out. I loved them and even remembere...

Re: What comics do you read on a regular basis?

Even in my 40s, I still love comics. The ones I read regularly are: 2000AD Judge Dredd Megazine Dandy Extreme Spaceship Away All great in their way. Found one of my first ever threads that I started in ComicsUK back in 2008 (under a different account). Time has moved on and though I am a little old...

Your Favourite Time for Having Comics

Though my love for comics is still strong and I still get a fair few regularly (see avatar), you can never beat the enjoyment you had as a kid. My favourite period I think was 1975-1977. During which I was introduced to Cracker , IPC's Mickey Mouse , Krazy Comic , Cheeky Weekly and not least - 2000A...
