overpriced or not :?:

At £5 an issue I should cocoa.
what would be a fair price :?:
For the whole run? I’d list it at £500 and if they went I’d be quite pleased.

Individual copies can sell for around a fiver but that’s mostly to people looking to complete a run or whatnot. If trying to offload a complete set you’ll only really sell to someone who has very few or none at all or to a dealer who’ll look to split and sell individually. Girls comics have changed in that they used to be pretty much worthless but they are still hard to sell.

ok thanks for the info :notworthy:

going back to the beano no1 I cannot understand why they did not list it at a much lower starting price(say £1000) but with a reserve price in case the bids did not go high enough in the end surely this would have generated more interest

Well as I mentioned before I can only think that Phil was going on what the owner wanted.

I personally would have listed at 99p and see where it landed. Even listing it at a £10k start would have been fine. I wouldn’t have added a reserve though, nothing like a reserve to depress bidding. I think eBay should ban reserves and just say if you can’t sell something below a certain amount then just start it at that amount.

I’ll say £800

**edited - I've had a closer look at the condition of the comic and it may go for less than the £800 that I thought.

I would go for a bit closer to £1,000, but things can change so quickly in auctions.

The Commando #1 went for £700 which was about right for the quality of the issue I think

Just seen someone selling issues 1-11 of The Bog Paper for £900.00. Ok if you're flush I suppose. Anyone paying that much must be round the bend, the S bend.

I like it that the seller will charge extra for delivery over 25 miles.
