I picked up Air Ace number 5 yesterday for 50p and was really impressed by the artwork - anyone know who it is? Scans and cover attached:
Drat the second scan was 401kb and the max is 400kb.

The first volume of Holland and Roach's splendiferous Fleetway Picture Library Index - which features all that publisher's War Libraries - not only identifies the artist as Solano Lopez of Kelly's Eye and Adam Eterno fame (whom even I can spot at a hundred paces) - it also gives the writer as E. Evans and the cover artist as Giorgio De Gaspari! I can't wait for Volume Two featuring The Thriller Libraries...

Yes the third panel has Kelly's Mince written all over it. Such detail. I always admire those artists who fill the panels with lots of detail. Thanks for clueing me in.
