THE NEW STRIKER COMIC

Just picked up the new "Striker" comic today when I was in W H Smiths in Glasgow and it seemed to be selling well. It was well positioned along with the Daily newspapers , and when I went back into Smiths fo rsomethign else I noticed a good few had been sold. Not a big fan of this type of comic (the graphics) but on readign it (ok glanciong through it) I can see a market for it - what do others think???

I bought it just so that I'd have the first issue as well as doing my bit to help the ailing British comic market. But, I was quite surprised as to just how much I enjoyed it. It's quite mature in its content and language, contains some very good humour and the computer art makes me look at the pictures more than I do with 2000AD. All in all a very good publication and I can't wait to read next weeks issue (just like the old days). They've also got a website http://www.striker3d.net which runs alongside the comic very well. I believe there's talk about a new adventure comic coming out along the same production lines. Well done to Pete Nash the creator. He's taking a huge gamble with this comic. Well done mate!

Yeah, I'm impressed all round by this comic and wish it all the best. I might not be the target audience for this (as I don't really like football!), but I'll definitely buy it for a few issues and would definitelt buy the proposed adventure comic. Yeah, it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's well thought out, has a real presence, the computer graphics will come on leaps and bounds. I really hope that other comics follow. Well done Mr Nash!

I was lucky enough to meet Pete Nash while at the Winterfest Comic Convention in London (Nov 1) and he was really enthusiastic about the whole thing which is great to see! While I'm not really a football fan, his talk of *possibly* doing an adventure comic one day was very exciting!

I am glad that Striker began with such a good response from the public. If you liked it back then but stopped buying it for whatever reason, I urge you to go out and buy it today. It now costs ?1.50 but is (honestly) about five times better than it was at its launch. The new story has just started, and it is gripping as well as funny. ?1.50 well spent, I promise you!
