 Surprised no-one ever flagged this up - it should be http://www.comicsuk.co.uk/forum/viewtop ... 138&t=1953
EDIT: What the hell? Somehow a %20 keeps getting added between the s and u in comicsuk! :? Oh, and that should've been all one word, all lower case, so the C and U are getting capitalized too.

I'm really posting this to bump the thread, as it's been over a year, and Comics UK v2 still isn't ready, let alone Comicpedia.

Sometimes real life gets in the way. Websites are only a hobby....

The extra space problem has been resolved.

As for V2 and Comicpedia, which will all be one release, the problem lies with available time.

As much as I would like to spend all my time in developing the website, I'm afraid the outside world usually takes precedence. I do have a full-time job, other hobbies, a family and I do like socialising as much as I can. I even enjoy watching TV!

As Lew said, the website, for me, is another hobby. A hobby that I really enjoy, but just a hobby.

Work is progressing on the new website, but I don't work on it every day. It will get completed, but I don't know when.

Hear! Hear! For me comics are a big hobby taking up a large chunk of money and time, but I also have other interests that also chew up time and money. Al, take your time and we'll get V2 when it gets here.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

Probably shouldn't have said that then Al! Anyway I do appreciate that you have other things to do... next time, just don't promise such a tight timescale, eh?

He said this Christmas - that post was posted in 2008, so I assumed it to mean six months ago i.e. December 2008. Never mind. *sigh* :snoring:

I would make a joke about Al becoming a politician and choosing his own unique definition of the word "this", but it'd probably fall flat on its face.

I think Al's as disappointed as you that he hasn't been able to get it up and running.

the last 'V2' unleashed on the UK [circa 1945] was a bit of an inconvenience, I understand.......

Hi Guys,

I can do no more than take it all on the chin. And I apologise profusely about not hitting the deadline(s).

In my defence, when I wrote that initial 'coming this Christmas' promise, I was out of work, which meant I was spending all my time on setting up V2. It was all going very well indeed until I accidentally managed to get myself a full-time job. Which left me in the position that I am still in - fighting to find the time to work on it.

However, in a fortnights time I have booked off one week which I will be solely dedicating to working on V2. I've been given the 'pink-pass' from the missus to live like a hermit during that time in my little PC room, where I will be living on fast-food and Red-Bull........can't wait!

So I've learnt now, not to state when things 'might' be ready, but just give updates of progress.

 Very clever. I know what you mean by that - at least it wasn't an A-bomb...

:notworthy: And I look forward to hearing of some... in a few months, a few years, any time you're ready.

Iinnnn the meantime there's somebody else's British Comics wikipedia-like site open for business, if anybody wants to contribute stuff...

www.crystal-knights.co.uk/

(it's the only spare address i had! it was originally going to be used for some sort of fantasy games thing that didn't get finished... or started)

Nice. I've registered, added several links (you didn't even have Beezer and Topper in the comics list) and created a page for Sparky (I'll do others too) which I hope the info from the Sparky File threads can be added to. :D This is going to keep some of us busy. Wikipedia's a pain for having stuff wiped off by editors who don't know the subject, as happened to a lot of comic articles a few months ago - shouldn't have the same problem with your wiki. :xfingers:
