Re: Beano monitoring
Actually, Billy Whizz is from more than 10 years ago. In fact, it's 15 years old at the very least, because in the strip he still has his original two long hairs - the thunderbolt hair was introduced in 1994.
I didn't think I'd seen the Gingerbread man Numskulls strip in the Beano before, though I had seen it in the Guardian article.

I hope you didn't mind me tidying up your quotation, I wouldn't want people to miss out on a bit of a bitch-fest there.Steve Henderson wrote:I would need to see evidence before I believe your claim.
In the first instance, I was correcting your misinterpreted wording, being a bit pedantic there. Something that Digifiend would be proud of.
Second instance, see my first.

I hardly think one has to repeat the previous comment when you have so successfully quoted it. However just to reiterate i posted "calm down child" thus suggesting that your actions were of a childish playground manner and therefore unnecessary.

Re: Beano monitoring
Anyway back on topic, the first £1.35 beano is out tomorrow and hopefully its better than last weeks let down.
Re: Beano monitoring
And I think your actions are condescending and irrelevant. Plus you've garnished it with a bit of sarcasm yourself. I wasn't speaking directly to you, but you feel that you need to address me? I think that more than fits the description of being childish. Plus, with the lack of emoticons, your statement actually comes across as confrontational.wardrobe86 wrote:I hardly think one has to repeat the previous comment when you have so successfully quoted it. Not got that Publishing job yet?

Take it to pm's, or posts will be deleted and you may have your access suspended. Unless you wish to discuss the Beano in a civilised fashion like the rest of us, of course.

Re: Beano monitoring
I liked seeing the animals taking over the story...good cartooney animals..in Roger the Dodger
Dennis the (RIP Menace) is sooo lame in The Beano..what a boring character..they should go back to before..a few weeks ago..he sure looks goofy with teeth..
Hope they ditch this cartoon based strip.keep tv cartoon and comic seperate..I hate the backgrounds of the strip ...and the character of Dennis is so young and not right..
Minnie's teacher is hot...
and what a shame for Ball Boy..bad timing...
also liked the Beano manga...love Minnie having lots of tongues (Jim Petrie would be smiling!!) best thing in The Beano at the moment for me..
would like to see the Bash Street kids have new titles..
Lord Snooty is Scrooge Mc Duck..

Re: Beano monitoring

Jim Hanson a few Months ago..
now compare to the new Dennis in the comic..which do you prefer?
Re: Beano monitoring
I can't see Bash Street getting weekly new titlecards again until DS stops drawing the strip.
I loved the Beano Manga strip too, nice Red Bull reference Laura! Red Dragon... very fitting with Merlin on TV right now.
I agree about Roger too, and 3 pages of Fred's Bed this week! Makes up for his absence last week (he'd already had a dino tale recently though, so he couldn't have fitted the issue theme).

I really liked this week's Beano Manga strip as well. I think Laura's onto a real winner with this one, and I'm no Manga fan. I also liked this week's Roger strip, however all I can say about Dennis is bring back the old version!

Re: Beano monitoring
This weeks Beano is quite an improvement. After a month we finally have an artist (albeit not a regular one, but no complaints) doing the cover again with a regular picture instead of a collage of jpegs. Notice the lack of advertising for the TV series which is good, perhaps we will get the old Dennis back pretty soon or at least get the good bits back, I understand it would be daft to go back they may as well put big eggo on the cover again if they are going to backtrack!
Was the 60 Second Dennis by Nigel Parkinson? If so were was the signature, not like him to miss it! Nice to see Tom Paterson back with a substantion piece of work! Shame there was no Superschool maybe next week. Nice to see a lot of Laura Howells work in the comic too.
Just my humble opinion though ha ha

Re: Beano monitoring
I agree entirely. Also, the cover is actually related to the story inside.
My only complaints with this issue are that there's no Super School, no Johnny Bean (though Laura has explained why) and no Billy Whizz!
