New issue out early

Just a heads up: tomorrow's Beano is out already. Just bought my copy. Nice issue; 20 pages of originated strips (so a couple more than recently) including Ratz, Johnny Bean, and I'm glad to say, Super School (and the Beano staff did a great job on colouring it).

also David Sutherlands Fred Bed was great...liked the monsters which are now not just under the bed But are also invading the past and present in every panel..

the Manga Beano page was quite strong...skates shouldn't be used as weapons!! maybe as the page is drawn more cartooney it can get away with strong ideas..certainly very different for The Beano..

Another thing about Beano Manga - Laura put Bea and Ivy back together. I guess that justifies the image on Beanotown.com, which she drew prior to knowing that the Bea and Ivy strip was to be dropped.

I shouldn't like it, but I do. I think the Beano Manga is BRILLIANT!

The whole audacity of it, the action style, lack of words particularly, everything actually. It's bonkers, but brilliant.

I really liked this week's issue. DS's Fred was great, and I also particularly enjoyed Billy Whizz, Super School, Johnny Bean and Roger the Dodger. As Lew mentioned, there were quite a lot of new pages this week, which is another good thing.

I think that Beano Manga is very good, it has nice action, which Laura is great at drawing, and the strip is consistently surreal and wacky. She's done a brilliant job on it.
