I'm sure that most forum members will have been surprised to see such a bold assertion on this thread, and will probably agree with me that it should first have been presented on the Road to Courage (religious beliefs section) thread for discussion and a possible ruling on its legitimacy.colcool007 wrote:Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) is from God's own country.

Especially since we all know I live in God's own country. The real one.

Re: Matt Smith as Dr Who
Couldn't help noticing there were no black or asian characters in the first episode. Are the producers trying for a 60s Avengers style look? Must confess when I saw pictures of Matt Smith last year I swore I'd not watch it as he looked like a hooray henry. However I thought he was very good and seems to want to retain the integrity of the role. Amy Pond was very distracting but i'm not complaining. How many of us used to watch Charlie's Angels only to be frustrated by their insistence on wearing boring flared trousers every week?

Now who else has had to do “Fishy custard†for younger members of the family because it’s what Dr Who eats?
Although it’s not the most revolting thing I’ve ever eaten by a long way, theirs a good reason why custard isn’t yer typical topping for fish fingers. Definitely a taste for regenerating taste buds. Stick to fighting Daleks Dr and leave the experimental cuisine to Heston Blumenthal and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall

Apparently the fish fingers weren't even real in last week's episode. Don't know what it was instead though.

Of course they were not real Digifiend. Fish do not have fingers. Everyone knows that.
Re: Matt Smith as Dr Who
In a interveiw he said the fish fingers were made of coconut, which he said he enjoyed dipping into the custard he had to eat around 12 of them to do the take.Digifiend wrote:Apparently the fish fingers weren't even real in last week's episode. Don't know what it was instead though.

Oh Gawd…does this mean I have to explain to a six year old that fish fingers have a stand in stunt double – coconut fingers? Though admittedly, they would taste a whole lot better.

The first person to put the recipie for those coconut finger online becomes every kids best friend and every parents worst enemy!
Anyone else who hated the new titles gradually been won around yet? I am quite loving them now! Looking forward to Saturdays episode although I wasnt the biggest fan of the Daleks in Manhatten in the depression so hopefully they will have read my mind and missed out all the crap I didn't like about those episodes

Re: Matt Smith as Dr Who
I don't think anyone in our house is bothered by the new titles/music. I must admit to several Oohs and Ahs when the TARDIS was bouncing off the sides of the time tunnel. All in all, a genuinely favourable reaction to the new titles.
I agree with Steve that Daleks in Manhattan was a bit slow (Comedy pig-men. Once funny, twice banal) but I am looking forward to the next episode this Saturday with the Daleks. Just wondering if Capt Jack Harkness will make a guest appearance..

I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

I understand that Jack won't in in series 5 at all, but he may show up again in later series, whether or not Torchwood gets a fourth series. The Sun referred to John Barrowman as ex-Torchwood star yesterday - ex? The show hasn't been confirmed as finished yet.

Nonetheless, it's difficult to see where they could go with it after killing off most of the cast, destroying the base (and presumably Jack's brother with it) and sending Gwen off to live happily ever after with her cloth headed hubby. And then, there are those rumours of an American version...Digifiend wrote:I understand that Jack won't in in series 5 at all, but he may show up again in later series, whether or not Torchwood gets a fourth series. Anyone seen the new Dalek design, yet? Not a fan, I have to say.

The Army Daleks or 'Ironsides'? Or have I missed something? The Tardis bouncing around the Time Vortex was something I loved too! The more I see it the more I love it, it didn't have that instant approval though like the new title music from 'Voyage of the Damned' had on me.

Yes, the cover of this week's Radio Times.Steve Henderson wrote:The Army Daleks or 'Ironsides'? Or have I missed something?
I'll say no more, as it does ruin the surprise.
