You ever noticed any of the assistants being a bit, erm, leopard-like?

Well, I'm still looking forward to it. I've already read issue 1 & 2 of Nemesis, and issue 1 of Turf, but the fact that there's a new UK comic is exciting, no?

The cover of this publication looks terrible,-----I doubt if I would pick up such a generic-looking mag or comic if I came accross it 'cold', but the inner artwork looks fine.

I will look out for it and have a look through it.

I like CLiNT, lots of comic strip and great art specially on 'The Fangs Of New York' very good value for money.

Clint actually featured on Newsnight Review last night, after a discussion on the movies Tamara Drewe and Jonah Hex. Interesting discussion which touched on the future for comics in Britain.

Anyone see it?

Yes. They only talked about it for two minutes. It mentioned the same points that most people have already brought up; good artwork, nice idea, but content seems uncertain as to who it's aiming at. (I don't think it mentioned that most of the content is American reprint.) Still, if it gets a few thousand viewers seeking it out then it's all good.

Does the concept of 'first publication' have any real meaning now that most people seem to collect trade paperbacks? I think this is the first appearance of Kick-Ass 2, yet I doubt if Marvel will advertise their own edition as a reprint.

It's an 8 page preview of the Kick Ass 2 comic which launches later this month so by the time CLiNT 2 or 3 comes out Kick Ass 2 will be published with all 22 pages, therefore overtaking the UK edition.

I bought it, read it and loved it. Jonothan Ross's's's's comic was a bit of a slog very wordy, when you create a comic theres no real need to be so descriptive as we can all see whats going on, leave that to your artist. It did have some cracking bits though having said that. Kick Ass 2 was as great as expected and Nemesis was excellent, by far the best strip in the mag. i would agree that the cover didnt really do it any justice. but if its what sells it then fair enough

Got my copy and I must admit I am left with mixed feelings about it. Enjoyed three of the stories. Nemesis (A super-villain story), Kick-Ass 2 and Turf (Gangsters, aliens and Vampires. Brilliant!) all hit the spot for me. Rexcorp, I will reserve judgement on and I just went WTF at the weird tales.

The articles make sense as it is easy filler and puffs up the page count, but overall, it makes me wonder if it is for me.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

I think you should judge it based on issue 4, when Kick-Ass is gone.

2 things.

1) I thought the "lads mag" elements were pretty regrettable. Dragging it down into a cynical Nuts gutter. Wish it didn't feel the need to pander to worst in teen boys/young men. Think some attempt at reaching out to young women would have been laudable - rather than stuffing the thing with dross filler like "Hot TV Mums".

2) Millar says, in his intro, "It's been a long time since anyone launched a boys comic in this country". I presume he means a fantasy/SF comic. So what has there been in last 20 years? Toxic. Crisis. Revolver. The DFC?

I must be getting too old for comics now, for as much as I was looking forward to this book (and it's great value at £3.99 for 100pages) I was left pretty much with the feeling that I'd seen it all before (not meaning the reprints etc) flet pretty much like "shock for the sake of shock" though to be honest its not that shocking - maybe its no longer my type of story/stirps mag now. Saying that I think it'll do well and it's great to see a new UK comic on the racks. I really liked the idea of the cover not featuring a comic character/strip (though what a bunch of ugly gits lol) nice artwork but not keen on the stories (Nemises being my favourite idea). Not too keen either on the "Hot mums" type article (but teenage boys and all that so "fair do's") it would have been nice to see a mix of strips with some "adult" humour and something without vampires or heroes (anti or the super variety) at least it wasn't totally overrun by Zombies. I'll def buy the next few issues to see if my opinion changes - I know it's the "grumpy old git syndrome" from me but can't we have something really new/different!.
