Oh, dear. I think I've already hi-jacked this thread.... ISPYSHHHGUY, we need some more of your drawings in here! Get scanning!!

This will be the last for quite a while. Inspired by nice comments received here and on Twitter, I decided to have a go at another Max strip. Now that I'm an owner of a lovely Bedlington Terrier, he often gets mistaken for one of those poodle cross-breeds, so that's what made me think of this one...

Image

As you can probably tell, I'm a bit precious of my wee dug (my real one) and started a resentment of these tailored cross-breeds that are now getting called their own breed, which I disagree with.

Thanks for looking, see ya soon!

Edit: Composition-wise, it's all over the place. I've cut out Dave in the first panel and ended up cutting out Max in the last panel. I could've fixed that in Photoshop, but, if you remember, I'm a lazy so-and-so and couldn't be bothered!

Did you ever show these strips to any publishers/syndicates, MMi?

OK, I hope to put more of my stuff on here soon.

Nooooooo. Don't be silly. The first one I did about 10 years ago, and that one I did this morning. The only two that exist.

it's looking increasingly confident, MMi; looks like you are hooked on this lark!

You need about 24 of these strips to show a syndicate: looks like you might as well keep going!

Love it Josh! Some good stories we both came up with as well, hope it'll be quite popular!

Cabbie sounds like an updated version of The Beano's Maxi's Taxi.

Never heard of Maxi's Taxi until after I'd made this idea and picture, so I certainly didn't copy it, although from the name it would seem to have a similar concept. I don't know though, never read it! :)

MMi, loved the Dog-a-loo and laughed at the hair dryer one. I know that Jim Davis has done it on several occasions but it doesn't get old.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

That's because he was from the late 1940s and early 1950s.

There's bound to be one or two, or several, that's been done before. I can only say that I'm not an ideas person and when I do think of something, I immediately think "well, if I have thought of it, someone better must have thought of it first." But then I just do it anyway!!

This is the last one for this week, I'll probably give it a break now - I want to see other's put their stuff in here (like Young Freddy's). I don't particularly think this one is funny, but happens to us in the house everyday with our wee Hamish....

I'd say that's one of your strongest ideas - a good tag; I could see that in a newspaper. (No need to write 'WAG!' though, I thought.)

The other strongest joke, I thought, was the toilets one - but shouldn't you have had the Ladies/Gents Portaloo on the left, and the tree on the right? As it is, we're seeing the punchline before we see the set-up.
