It's awful, I can assure you.
It's hard to see and read - and the weird turning and order just gives me a bigger headache.
I think the best thing here surely is to have it already pulled out as a minimag - surely that's the logical explanation?!

That's exactly what they're designed to do. Have you not noticed the dotted lines to cut out and fold along? Plus, how many times does it take to repeat a non-truth for people to believe it to become true?WizzKid97 wrote:I think the best thing here surely is to have it already pulled out as a minimag - surely that's the logical explanation?!
Wallace and Gromit isn't paid for. No money changes hands. Not a dime.
And this is surely off-topic discussing who owns what? At least felneymike has offered ideas on something constructive.
Rasher.
Re: 'The' Beano Max 62
felneymike, good suggestion. They could do that, or they could use them as bonus minimags instead of part of the comic itself. Half size pull out sections are annoyingly awkward to read, if you don't want to cut up your comic.
Rasher, discussing Wallace and Gromit isn't off topic IMHO, since this is a BeanoMAX thread and they appear in it. And there isn't anything wrong with thread derailment sometimes anyway.

It's an awful lot cheaper to get readers to pull out their own pages and cut along the folds than to print a separate booklet - 11 A3 sheets folded to A4 in one go will be cheaper than 8 A3 pages folded plus a separate run of 4 A4 pages folded, even though it's the same amount of paper.

Naturally - but they're putting the price up anyway. It's been done before (the "Dennis and the Magic Quest" mini-comic was one I particularly liked), and heaven knows I'd rather have that than a whoopee cushion.AndyB wrote:It's an awful lot cheaper to get readers to pull out their own pages and cut along the folds than to print a separate booklet - 11 A3 sheets folded to A4 in one go will be cheaper than 8 A3 pages folded plus a separate run of 4 A4 pages folded, even though it's the same amount of paper.
Similar argument applied to the Dennis 60th special. Main comic was absolutely full of reprints, squeezing out most of the new content, when packaging the comic together with a mini-comic titled "The Descent of Den" or something similarly cheesy would have allowed both for more reprints, covering a greater scope than just pre-1974, and more proper comics. It would have cost more, but you'd also be getting more comics for your money.
Sadly, they seem to have stopped doing this. I think the last time a comic was included in the gift package was when the 'How to Draw' book was reprinted, several months ago, and that was two-thirds blank.
Help! Help! We're being held prisoner in a signature factory!
