I was just wondering where the best place was to buy comic art from DCT and IPC.

ebay has a separate section in the Books, Magazines and Comics category for original art. 95% is modern-ish stuff but I have seen a few Fleetway/Thomson pieces.

There's a nice chap who sells old British comic art at the monthly comic marts in the Royal National Hotel in London - perhaps he's on this forum in fact. He often has IPC pages, and last month had a few Dandy pieces too. Silver Acre also have British comic art: http://www.silveracre.com/artsite/

I have a few of my Oink! pages up for sale if you're interested. You'll find other IPC pages on eBay as well:

i recently bought some ted kearon art on e bay.
it is a beautiful piece of zip nolan strip from 'lion' comic 1963.
look under 'comic art' on ebay and you should find plenty.
it is a little expensive.

I just found and bought a Cliff Hanger strip from the 1989 Buster Book hand drawn and coloured by JEO, one of my favourite artists. Only £12.50! Im so excited! Whats funny is there are 2 different bits of JEO artwork from different sellers both located in the west country.

That's a real bargain, Ed! Look forwards to seeing it.

I remember the first time I held original inkings in my hands at D C Thomson: I never realized how much was lost in the publishing process.

After looking at the artwork it seams to me that it is not the pen and ink stage but the colouring stage afterwards unfortunately. I got a frame for it today nonetheless and am excited to have it up in my bedroom. It is still a great piece of artwork to have. I also hope that the person I bought them off has more he may like to sell.

So it's a coloured-in photocopy? I hope the seller isn't advertising it as original artwork.

I'm not entirely sure but I think it was one of the editors proofs. It has tipex marks on it, and on the back it says Buster Book 1989 Page 10. The one I have is definitely coloured in, but I don't think it was the original pen and ink. Are there any tell tell signs as to the fact that is is pen and ink. One of the reasons I said it wasn't the original was because of the speech balloons look computer typed. What's your opinions guys.
