Re: Digital Dandy
Glad to hear that. One of the main complaints on the first couple of issues was slow load times.
As for issue 3, both issues 1 and 2 came out on a Friday, so I won't be surprised if the date was wrong and it turns up tomorrow evening.
EDIT: 10 to midnight, looks like I was right. No issue 3.

Re: Digital Dandy
I'm not get any sound on my nexus do all the strips have sound effects?
Re: Digital Dandy
Most of them don't, except during games.
Re: Digital Dandy
So Issue 4 should be out tomorrow if they are publishing weekly? Any news out there?
Re: Digital Dandy
No news... their Facebook doesn't even mention issue 3. Issue 4 should indeed be out tomorrow though.

Re: Digital Dandy
Just reading the new one...
Desperate Dan is brilliant...nice little animations and very well drawn...who is the artist?
Sneaker was great...also loving the storyline of Brassneck..
my old computer couldn't load Bananaman...the spooky tree looked good in the first panel..
Well done Dandy!!
I would love this one day to be in printed form as well..

Sky Sports News mock up to advertise a new Calamity James spin-off in digital Dandy.

Yes, the Little Squelchy Thingies got their own strip!

Re: Digital Dandy
So what is new and what is reprint in the digital Dandy??
Obviously Dan, Bananaman, Brassneck, Kate and Retroactive are. As is Bad Hair Day and Numskulls.
But what about Blinky, Laughing Planet and Sneaker? I would have assumed reprints, but have they got their old artists back (Tom P & Nick B) to create new strips? And Little squelchy thingies!? Are they new? Have I missed any? Perhaps we could start a list or chart of some sort...
Oh, and has anyone figured/found out who the artists are on Dan and Bananaman?
I'm still having really bad delays on most of the strips so am reluctant to get any of the issues until it's sorted out, or they bring out an app for the iphone/pad/pod in conjunction with the website.
Thanks!
Ross

Re: Digital Dandy
No, Little Squelchy Thingies made their debut this issue, but I think Laughing Planet is brand new strips, I cannot say whether Sneaker or Blinky are new strips or reprint though (as I haven't got that many issues of the Dandy from the 1990's or 2000s.)
Re: Digital Dandy
Desperate Dan, Bananaman, Blinky (Nick Brennan), Sneaker (Nick Brennan), The Laughing Planet (Tom Paterson), Little Squelchy Thingies (Tom Paterson), Keyhole Kate (Stephen White), Brassneck (Stephen White), Retro Active (Wayne Thompson) and The Numskulls (Jamie Smart) are all brand-new as was Hammie the Hopping-Mad Hamster (Graham Howie) and Bad Hair Day (Alexander Matthews). One-off mini-strip Monsters (Nigel Auchterlounie) was also new.
It Wasn't Me (Will Dawbarn), Jibber & Steve (Nigel Auchterlounie), Growlph (Stephen Waller), Scary Bikers (Rick Eades), Barbarian Librarian (Stu Munro), News at Hen (Stu Munro), Not so Deadly 60 (Paul Palmer), You Took That Too Far (Alexander Matthews), Constable Clod (Andy Fanton), Flatman and Ribbon (Dean Rankine), Garth Vader (Steve Beckett) and Angry Nerds (Will Dawbarn) have all been mini-strip reprints from the 2010-2012 print Dandy.
Kev the Caveman was the only strange one as it was a re-used script from Peter Player's webcomic, Kev of the Jungle which was later reprinted as Off the Vine in The Dandy in early 2011 however is strangely redrawn.
In regards to Desperate Dan and Bananaman artists - Bananaman is definitely bythe artist who draws Wallace and Gromit for The BeanoMAX (the other one, not the artist who also drew Fred's Bed), he signed his W&G work once as 'A. James' so that's a start! Desperate Dan strangely reminds me of David Parkins work so I'm tempted to say Parkins (although it seems unlikely), my friend George Shiers believes the art could be by Steve Bright but as far as certainty goes, we're stumped!
I hope future issues of The Digital Dandy will stop using the mini reprints, they're very annoying! I also hope we'll see Bully Beef and Chips, Winker Watson, Beryl the Peril, Korky the Cat and a number of 2010-2012 stories crop up in later issues.

Re: Digital Dandy
Harry, couldn't agree more with your last comment, The reason the print version didn't survive is because some of these classics were ditched in the first place. The characters below would certainly be more entertaining than some of the strips in there at the moment. I'm going to be a grumpy old git & leave the digital Dandy to whatever youngsters find it & stick to my lovely old paper comics.
