THE LAST HELLMAN STORY

Does anyone know if the story "Wagners Walk" that appeared in Tornado in the late 70's was originally meant to be the final Hellman (of Hammer Force fame)story. I didnt keep my Tornados but I always remember thinking the lead characters were similar and that the 2 people who escaped with Wagner were similar to 2 of the Hellman supporting cast. If memory serves, and this is going back over 20 years, I think there was a misprint in one of the strips and 1 of Wagners sidekicks was called by Hellmans sidekicks name Anyone know anything about this?

hi,almost finished reading tornado and i couldn't help noticing the similarites between these two.hellman would have been concieved by pat mills and wagners walk was written by r.e.wright which was a name pat mills used,so we could well be right here.don't know if hellman was still running in battle when tornado came out.the guys at comics international could well help here.i'll see what i can find out and let you know.

I never realised the connections between the two! And yes, the character Gruber is referred to as Decker in issue 4!

In my opinion, Wagner's Walk is a far superior story to Hellman - far less of a super-soldier.

Thanks for the replies folks. I thought it was just me imagining things especially the Gruber/Dekker misprint. Cant believe I still remember all that stuff as the last time I read Wagners Walk was over 20 years ago Just noticed the person who runs the site is also called Al so I better change my handle
