I have just been putting some issues of Buddy on ebay and never realised it featured Billy The Cat, General Jumbo and The Iron Fish - the latter drawn by Denis Mcloughlin. One issue features it on the cover:

Did you not see the Buddy run of Jumbo in Classics from the Comics last year? Anyway, both Jumbo and Iron Fish changed the names of the protagonists. In the Beano, Jumbo is called Alfie Johnson, but Buddy's version was called Jimmy Johnson. And Buddy calls the Iron Fish pilot Danny Boyle, rather than Danny Gray as used in The Beano.

including a few about the changing artists (six) on Buddy's Iron Fish. Denis Mcloughlin was one of my least favourites; I think Alfredo Falugi was my favourite.

Thanks for the reminder - my photographic memory isn't what it used to be. (Lowest form of wit going full blast here). I have the last issue of Buddy (my mate Steve gave me a bundle of doubles) and inside it has a double page spread of all the characters waving goodbye - quite unusual.

Since i installed my old printer onto my new laptop it seems to have a lot more features. I notice I have been scanning in 300 DPI which I presume is best quality. It goes to 200 150 and 100. Any idea which one I should use? I lowered it to 150 for the Buddy cover to see if there was much difference. Also I was using colour photo setting which I changed to colour document for the Buddy cover. Kenny Dalglish on the cover, very topical.
