Whatever happened to Johnny Red? I lost track around 1984 or so. Apparently he moved to Eagle comic when it merged with Battle but what happened in the last episode?

the stories in eagle were all reprints, as were the last year or so of battle ,that i can remember, in the last story the war was over, he was back in britain, with a pardon and his kill crazy russian girl friend nita ? its a while since i read it, so the details mightent be great so if any one knows exactly lets hear.
