I think I've managed to spell that right. Anyone got info on who the writers/artists were on this classic story from Warlord? I remember reading somewhere that Mike Dorey (who was the best artist at drawing Germans in my opinion) drew some but I have about 400 issues of Warlord and dont seem to have any with him.

Not too sure if this is any help. I've just looked at Kamfegruppe Falken in a Warlord dated August 18th 1979.
I've seen the artists work before. I recollect an episode of 'Invasion' in a very early issue of 2000AD.
The last frame has Bill Savage and Silk(?) riding away in a Rolls Royce.

Looking at the artists list, there are some names and art styles I recognise and can eliminate from the search. But there are two I don't know:
Sarompas and Mike Donaldson.
I have a feeling that they mean Mike Dorey because he drew a lot of episodes and I've never heard of Mike Donaldson!
According to this page Sarompas only drew a couple of episodes. Maybe that's the guy?
I can't remember when they started printing credits in 2000AD. If you could find the issues listed you may find a credit or a signature.

Yes I can remember Mike Dorey drawing Invasion now you mention it. He also drew the Victor Drago story in Tornado (as well as some Hellman stories in Battle/Action). Typically I have a gap in my Warlord collection after July 1979. He was drawing Iron Annie at that point so I shall have to get this gap filled. I think its a pity that DC Thompson never credited their writers/artists as there are so many of them whose styles I am so familiar with but whose names I have no idea about. I guess the best thing to do is actually approach DC Thompson with examples of the stories and ask them who these people are.
I notice that they now let people sign their art in The Beano.
It's funny that in the past they let Dudley Watkins sign his pages but no credit was given to people like Davie Law, Leo Baxendale and Ken Reid.
People (especially Baxendale and Law) who created some of the characters who are still the cornerstones of the DC Thompson 'empire'.
I've been trying to put names to art on my web site. Check out 'Who is?' on the first page.
I've been told that Ted Rawlings drew Chell Puddock(?)(The Hammer Man).

People interested in British comics should check out 'Book and Magazine Collector'. It's a glossy A5 size magazine and often has articles on comics and comic artists. Lately there have been articles on Geoff Campion, Ron Embleton and David Law.
