mike butterworth, is credited with writing the trigan empire, anyone know anything else about him, or what else he wrote,looking forward to titan realising the trigan empire volumes,i recently bought near 1000 look and learns (i got them v cheap)to read the story, and its brilliant but its don lawrance art that makes it.

Dathi Don't know alot about Mike Butterworth, only what I managed to extract from some Trigan Empire sites - the poor guy had to compete against some of the best artwork in comcs history, which is a pity cause it was a fantastic story with great writing. Anyway - Mr Buitterworth wrote WULF THE BRITAIN (originally in Express Comic 56 -61 and reprinted in varous mags and comics) he also wrote the novelisation of ITCs SPACE 1999, and get this, 3 books inspired by the rock n roll band HAWKWIND - thats all I know Im afraid though he must have done more.

cheers paul, wulf the briton is very similar even though one is sci fi and the other fantasy,lawrance drew wulf as well?

Dathi - No Wulf the Briton was draw (well painted) by Ron Embleton (of Wicked Wanda fame)., I got them mixed up as well, you may be thinking of Eric the Viking which Don Lawrence drew as well .

Eric the Viking by Lawrence was reprinted in old editions of SMASH comic in black and white (with grey tones) the art still looks stunning. and worth pickingthem up if you see them on the stands - some great Leo Baxendale strips there as well (Swots and Blots etc).

mike butterworth scripted some episodes of the silver colt in lion comic....also in lion comic he wrote 10,000 disasters of dort.
