Brian Aldiss memorably pointed this out when he referred to the sub-genre exemplified by the works of John Wyndham (surely the model for so many of those strips set in the near future that regularly appeared in Buster, Dandy and Beezer during the 1960s) as the 'Cosy Catastrophe'!crow wrote:There's a definate 'oddness' to a lot of British comics.
