2015 Annuals

Post by Digifiend »

Cover designs for the new Beano, Dandy and Classic Beano and Dandy annuals are out.

They turned up on the Unofficial Beano Forum last night, but I don't know what the source was. I've asked the uploader to tell us.

I doubt the person who posted them will be back soon. That was his second post his first was ages ago.

I am the person who posted them, I often read the forums but don't often post. Anyway the source is the book depository.

I'm inclined to get The Beano and The Dandy -The Comics That Won The War. However, I have to hope that there's no duplication of any of the pages in The Beano and The Dandy - Favourites From The Forties.

There is a saying in English, Bri, that you are probably aware of. Never judge a book by its cover.

I thought it looked classy with the gold logo. There's no guarantee it's the final cover of course.

There's also the Oor Wullie annual and the Broons/Oor Wullie covers up too. Interesting to see the "in full colour for the first time ever" description on the Broons/Oor Wullie (not strictly true, because they published some strips in colour in the 90's didn't they?)

They probably mean the strips being reprinted are in colour for the first time. Maybe someone decided that black and white doesn't sell?

You are quite correct Phoenix i think its just the background colour that did my head in  I'm sure the inside will be all great & lovely & i'm sure will be a darn sight better than the efforts of the last few years,& im sure the recent Phil Comics effort which have put them to shame has got DCT working twice as hard now.

Hmmm. Methinks I spot a common theme between The Dandy Annual 2015 and another older Dandy Book (1944?).

Only this time, Korky is smart enough not to try and stop Dan's shot. ;)

What do you think???

A brilliant cover in any case.

That's because Brassneck took over his goalkeeper spot and Korky's playing outfield instead. :)

And anyway, how do we know that Brassneck won't share Korky's fate on the back cover?
